I normally love the quotes sent but this one is reeking in codependence. My own happiness is not paramount to someone elses. It is not essential for me to base my own happiness if someone else is happy or not. This person needs to read a book on codependence.

I think it's unhealthy to require that anyone be happy for me to be. It makes me dependent on them for my feelings and put pressure on them not to feel or share their negative feelings. I can love someone very deeply, but I don't want to take on their unhappiness. I can be of more help and support to them if I don't.
